Lifestyle photography is crucial for showcasing products in a relatable and engaging way. Recently, I had the pleasure of working with nfant on a project that highlighted the transformative impact of their innovative medical device. Collaborating with Late Bloomer Creative from Boston, we aimed to bring nfant’s unique product to life through authentic, real-world examples.
nfant is a cutting-edge medical device designed to support breastfeeding mothers. Imagine a Fitbit, but for breastfeeding. This device attaches to the breast and provides a wealth of data, from milk output to various analytics. Its purpose is to take the guesswork out of breastfeeding, addressing common concerns such as whether a baby is getting enough milk. By providing valuable insights, it also assists lactation consultants in their work, making it an essential tool for many mothers and post partum professionals. For data enthusiasts, the detailed information it offers can be incredibly fascinating and useful.
For this project, Late Bloomer Creative wanted to move beyond traditional product shots. The goal was to capture real moms interacting with the nfant device in their everyday environments. This approach was chosen to showcase the product’s practicality and benefits in a genuine, relatable context. By featuring real-life scenarios rather than a controlled studio setting, we were able to demonstrate how the device integrates seamlessly into daily life.
To achieve this, the agency conducted a casting call to find real moms who could authentically represent the target audience. This decision was key to ensuring the images felt genuine and resonated with viewers. The photoshoot took place in various home settings, providing a natural backdrop that highlighted the device’s usability in everyday life.
The success of this shoot was a result of detailed planning and execution. While the client managed the production aspects, including casting and location selection, there was significant attention to detail in other areas. We had a dedicated hair and makeup artist, wardrobe advice from the client, and expert prop styling. These elements were crucial in creating a polished and cohesive visual narrative that effectively communicated the product’s benefits.
If you’re considering a similar project, whether you’re handling it in-house or outsourcing components, it’s important to consider all the elements involved. From location and talent to styling and production, each aspect contributes to the overall success of the shoot. Ensuring these elements are well-coordinated can make a significant difference in achieving a compelling and authentic visual representation.
