Atlanta Food Photography: Kroger Chef Junior

I recently had the delightful opportunity to work with Kroger on a photoshoot for their ever-expanding Kroger Chef Junior program. This program is a fantastic initiative aimed at getting kids excited about cooking through fun, hands-on Saturday morning classes.

Kroger Chef Junior is a cooking class designed for kids. It is available in a handful of states at limited locations. This program offers a similar model to the Saturday morning DIY kids’ classes at Home Depot and Lowe’s but with a culinary twist. Parents can sign up their kids online for under $10, and each month they receive a tool to take home that goes along with the recipe they learned. Participants also get a recipe card, an apron, and a chef hat, and they earn a badge for their apron to show they completed the class. The program typically runs two weekends a month, providing a consistent opportunity for young chefs to hone their skills.

Kroger is currently expanding its Chef Junior program, aiming to offer it at more stores and increase participation in the stores where it’s already available. The goal of our photoshoot was to create compelling images that would help elevate the program’s visibility and popularity. By using high-quality photography in stores, email marketing, social media, and the program’s website, Kroger hopes to get more people excited about this fantastic opportunity for kids.

During the photoshoot, we staged various shots. This included stop-motion sequences to create playful, scroll-stopping content that would grab attention on social media. The vibrant colors of the ingredients and the amazing styling provided by the client came together to tell a compelling story.

The images we created will be used in multiple ways:

  • In stores: To attract more families to sign up for the program.
  • Email marketing: To highlight the fun and educational aspects of the classes.
  • Social media: To generate excitement and engagement around the program.
  • Website: To provide a visually appealing overview of what the program offers.

A special shoutout to Strottman. They are the company behind the creative marketing of the program to help Kroger expand it to more stores and states.

Working with Kroger on this project was an absolute pleasure. It’s always rewarding to be part of something that brings joy and learning to kids. The Kroger Chef Junior program is a wonderful initiative. I’m excited to see it grow and inspire the next generation of young chefs. If you have kids and are looking for a fun and educational Saturday morning activity, I highly recommend signing up for a class. You won’t be disappointed!

Stay tuned for more updates and photos from this fantastic program on their Instagram.
